A research team led by UCSF molecular biologists has identified a promising drug candidate against COVID-19, an anti-cancer drug which reportedly kills the novel coronavirus in lab studies and was shown to be 30 times more potent than Remdesivir which is one of the few antiviral drugs being used to treat COVID-19.

‘Invisible’ Stem Cells Evade Natural Killer Cells Using Immune ‘Off-Switch’ 🧫🧪🚫

Scientists from the University of California, San Francisco have discovered a new way to control the immune system’s ‘natural killer’ (NK) cells. The findings hold promise for novel cell therapies, tissue implants that can evade immune rejection, and could also be used to enhance the ability of cancer immunotherapies to detect and destroy tumors.
